We are so happy to have you here exploring all that the City of Groton’s historic Village of Groton Heights has to offer. If you can, hop on the Thames River Heritage Park water taxi to spend some time on the water. Consider extending your day to have dinner at one of many restaurants in the area.
Our kick-off for the summer passport program is Groton Heights Waterfront Festival, held on Saturday, June 13th from 10 am to 4 pm. A collective effort of historic preservation and cultural organizations in the Groton Heights neighborhood, this annual event is designed to introduce both residents and visitors to the many resources that exist in our community. Groton Heights Waterfront Festival coincides with Connecticut Open House Day – an annual statewide event when cultural organizations across the state open their doors at no cost for visitors to discover Connecticut’s fascinating world of art, history, film, and tourism.
From historic treasures through delectable cuisine, we hope you will take your time visiting as many locations as possible and getting to know more about us. Please come back soon and come back often!
